Independent Meat Co. is over 100 years old.  The Company finds its roots in the founding of the City of Twin Falls, Idaho in 1904.  Originally it was a butcher shop serving the irrigation company workers and land developers.  As the community grew with the development of a commercial business base around the farm economy, the single butcher shop grew to several in Twin Falls and surrounding towns.  By 1909 the Company added a central slaughter plant servicing the needs of its retail shops.  By the 1920s the Company evolved to include sausage making, meat cutting and meat smoking at the present site South of Twin Falls.  The butcher shops were phased out and a distribution service was added to the mix to provide products to the retail grocery businesses.

Independent Meat Company is a "Reputation" company.  It is built on a foundation of long service.  We believe in a system of tradition, tried technology and customer focus.
